Follow
The best way to follow this bliki is to subscribe to its RSS feed in a feed reader. A reader checks the sites you follow and shows you their new posts in the order they were published.
I'd suggest FeedFlow. It's free, open source, and runs on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows and Linux, but any feed reader works. New to feeds? About Feeds is a short guide.
Why a feed
- Open web standards. The feed is RSS 2.0, also offered as JSON Feed, and the blogroll is OPML. They're published, free formats that no company owns, so any reader can use them and none can lock you in.
- No algorithm. The feed is a plain file that lists my posts, newest first, the same for everyone. Your reader shows what the sites you picked published, in the order they published it. Nothing ranks, hides, boosts or rewrites a post, and nothing slips in an ad.
- No tracking. No account, no email address, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts, in the feed or on this site. Your reader fetches the feed the way a browser fetches a page; GitHub, which hosts the files, sees those requests as any web host would, and I see none of them.
- Yours to keep. Your subscriptions live in your reader, and you can export them as OPML to move to another one. The feed lives on my own domain, so its address stays the same if I change how the site is built or hosted.
